Markita Warren

Dr. Markita Warren holds a PhD in Urban Education Policy from Cleveland State University, a Master of Education and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Humanities. As a former classroom teacher, she was a member of the first cohort of educators in the Ohio RESA Program and was recognized as a Top 100 Educator by the Ohio Department of Education. Determined to advocate for urban students and implement systemic reform, Dr. Warren focused her doctoral research on the linguistic social justice of African American students and the positive impact of Black teachers on Black urban youth. She currently serves as a curricular leader in an urban school district where she organizes, implements, and supervises the use of curricula and educational programming across content areas.
