Michael Kokozos, PhD., (he/him/his) aka "Koko" earned a Ph.D. in Education, Culture & Society from the University of Pennsylvania; he also earned a B.A. and a Masters with an international studies focus from New York University. He loves to travel and has lived in Canada, Greece, and Turkey. His research focuses on inclusion and human rights education in local + global contexts by applying a critical lens. His leadership focuses on promoting civic engagement and global youth leadership. His current project, a collaboration with NC State - #PassTheMicYouth, for example, is a celebration of project-based learning, digital activism, and the power of adult/youth partnerships. He currently teaches social science within the International Baccalaureate (IB) program and college courses in teaching & learning in Miami, Florida.
